Project Overview
In 2024, Alliance Gator launched Gator-Studio.com, a centralized online training hub designed to help hardscape contractors, installers, dealers, and manufacturers learn how to properly use Alliance Gator’s products.
The platform was created to solve a growing challenge: educational resources were scattered across multiple channels, and contractors needed a simple way to access reliable training while working in the field.
Gator Studio became a one-stop destination for training videos, product education, quizzes, and downloadable guides, all accessible from any mobile device.
“Alliance needed a way to centralize product education and make it easily accessible on demand.”
The Challenge
Before the Gator Studio online portal existed, training resources were spread across multiple platforms:
the Alliance Gator website
YouTube
printed installation instructions
trade shows and in-person events
dealer training sessions
This fragmentation created several challenges:
Contractors had difficulty finding reliable information quickly
Installation mistakes occurred due to insufficient or inconsistent training
Sales and support teams frequently answered the same questions
Educational content was difficult to scale
Alliance needed a way to centralize product education and make it easily accessible on demand.
The Strategy
My vision was to create a clean, mobile-friendly training platform that contractors could quickly reference on a job site using their phones.
Because nearly every contractor carries a smartphone, an online training hub provided the ideal way to deliver consistent education at scale.
Key goals for the project included:
Create excitement and adoption within the sales team
Encourage dealer and contractor engagement through subscriptions
Introduce on-demand training videos — a new format for Alliance
The result was a centralized platform designed to make learning simple, accessible, and practical for industry professionals.
Execution
To bring the platform to life, I led the concept, design, and development of the entire project.
Website Development
The training platform was built using SquareSpace, where I designed the user experience, site architecture, and page layouts to ensure the platform was easy to navigate—especially on mobile devices.
I also wrote the website copy and structured the learning environment to help users quickly find relevant information.
Educational Content
Working closely with our Technical Support Director and VP of Sales, we developed a series of on-demand training courses covering key installation topics.
Courses include:
Polymeric Sand for Dummies (CEU eligible)
Artificial Turf 101 (CEU eligible)
To support the courses, we created additional educational resources including:
product-specific quizzes
downloadable technical guides
product case studies
To produce the video content, we utilized our recording studio in New Jersey and in-house videographer who handled filming and editing.
Marketing & Systems Integration
The platform was integrated with HubSpot to support subscriber growth and analytics tracking.
To attract visitors beyond our existing marketing database, we also implemented:
SEO-optimized blog content
promotional materials used at trade shows and events
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) pages designed to capture search traffic
Results
Since launching in May 2024, Gator Studio has generated strong early engagement and continues to grow.
Key results include:
29,000 unique visitors
positive feedback from contractors and distributors alike
adoption by dealers for internal training programs
reduced technical support inquiries
improved product knowledge among installers
launch of new Job Site Success Kit in 2026, a landing page dedicated to joint material training and support
The platform has also strengthened Alliance’s position as a thought leader in contractor education, particularly in emerging areas such as artificial turf installation training.
Key Takeaway
Gator Studio demonstrates how thoughtful content, strong digital systems, and clear educational design can transform scattered product resources into a scalable training platform that supports both customers and internal teams.
By centralizing contractor education, Alliance created a long-term marketing and support asset that continues to grow in value.
My Role
I led the project from concept through launch, including:
originating the idea for the training platform
designing the website and user experience
writing website copy and course scripts
coordinating curriculum development
integrating HubSpot for analytics and subscriber tracking
The project was developed entirely in-house without outside vendors.
